Andrew Breitbart Talked Politics in L.A. Bar an Hour Before Dying (Exclusive)

ok….

Matt Belloni at The Hollywood Reporter ->

Sando also mentioned that he hadn’t seen Breitbart as a guest on HBO’s Real Time With Bill Maher recently; Breitbart told Sando he enjoyed going on Maher’s show because it taught him how to deal with a hostile audience and how to react when getting booed.

Breitbart had stopped in for a drink but wasn’t there to meet anyone in particular, Sando says. Nor were there any signs of health or other problems.

“He wasn’t drinking excessively,” Sando recalls. “He was on his BlackBerry a lot.”

After the two hours, Breitbart said he was leaving. “We exchanged contact information,” Sando says. “We were going to get together.”

Sando says he was “shocked” to read Thursday morning that Breitbart, who had a history of heart problems, had collapsed while on a walk near his home in the same neighborhood as the bar. Breitbart was rushed to a hospital and pronounced dead at 12:19 a.m., according to Reuters, less than an hour after leaving The Brentwood.

The exact cause of death has not been revealed but initial reports said it was natural causes.

“There were no signs that anything was wrong,” says Sando. “It’s very sad.”

John Cole speaks for me:

#Breitbart=as much an architect of the TParty sickness infecting our body politic as anyone so there really is no reason 2 trash him”

…………………………………………………………………………

In my estimation, part of trying to be a better person is showing a basic level of decency that includes having the self-restraint to not trash the recently deceased. I know some of you don’t feel the same way, and I know for a fact @ http://thinkprogress.org/politics/2009/08/26/57997/breitbart-kennedy-twitter/?mobile=nc Breitbart himself didn’t feel constrained by any similar notions of restraint or respect for others, but I’d like to try to be a better man.

Koran Burning in NATO Error Incites Afghans for 2nd Day

BAGRAM, Afghanistan — Protests against the burning by NATO personnel of an undisclosed number of Korans spilled into a second day on Wednesday and seemed poised to widen as the United States Embassy in Kabul ordered a lockdown suspending all travel by its staff.

The violent protests began on Tuesday as news of the burning spread along with word that NATO personnel were also preparing to dispose of many more Korans by incineration.

Apple Buying Stake In AMD Fox Business Reports

2007 Fail:

At 9:27 this morning, Fox Business Morning for Breakfast co-anchor Alexis Glick eagerly reported Apple (AAPL) had taken an 8% stake in AMD. Fox’s guest contributor, Charles Payne, immediately analyzed the deal and pronounced it a brilliant move for both parties.

The problem? It wasn’t Apple buying AMD.  It also, unfortunately, wasn’t a mysterious pan-Arabian country called “Abu Dubai,” as Glick announced when she corrected the Apple report. (It was Abu Dhabi.)

2012 Daytona 500 Starting Grid

A few notes: At the end of qualifying, Clint Bowyer’s 5 Hour Energy car which is part of Michael Waltrip Racing got caught in post-race inspection for failing to pass the height sticks. He will start in last place in next Sunday’s race. Shades of the MWR cheating scandal from 2007(Not really…..)

What wasn’t determined until today? Which bubble drivers would get into the race and which would leave Daytona heartbroken.

In the first Duel, Michael McDowell and Robby Gordon took the two available transfer spots; Dave Blaney and Joe Nemechek did the same in Duel No. 2.

Those four drivers will join Trevor Bayne, Tony Raines and David Stremme – whose time trial speeds earned them a berth in the 500 – and Terry Labonte, who makes the race by virtue of a past champion’s provisional.

Going home are big names such as Michael Waltrip, Bill Elliott and Kenny Wallace, along with Mike Wallace, Robert Richardson Jr. and JJ Yeley.

Here is the starting lineup for the 2012 Daytona 500:

  1. Carl Edwards
  2. Greg Biffle
  3. Tony Stewart
  4. Matt Kenseth
  5. Dale Earnhardt Jr.
